Fashion & Sewing Camp Overview

New for 2019 - FK Textile Design Specialization!

New this year is our textile design specialization. Add the specialization to your camp order and Tuesday you will create your own custom fabric in our new outdoor classroom. Content will be varied on different weeks so that those attending multiple weeks will learn a variety of different textile skills. Batik, Wood block Printing, and direct painting are just some of the skills we will teach throughout the summer. Finished textiles can be incorporated into your capsule collection or framed for hanging as exquisite home decor.

These camps are perfect for those entering 2nd and 3rd grade are are designed to accommodate all skill levels. Half Day programs are offered, one with a Sundress project theme and one with a Doll Bed theme. Our Juniors campers will also enjoy learning some hand sewing and craft skills throughout the week. They are an important part of our end of summer Fashion Show Event on August 11th.

Every Core Summer Camp uses FashionKit curriculum!
All of our FK programs are an immersive Fashion experience with content designed to expose campers to the complete fashion design process from initial concept to finished collection.  Each week will vary in content to offer variety to those enrolled in multiple weeks of camp.  FK camps are great for kids in fourth grade and up and teens. Designers learn about budgeting and planning in the sewnow!  ProShop where they 'shop' for their patterns, fabric, and notions to complete their projects.  Sourced and curated from the Fashion District in Los Angeles, our fabrics are on-trend and deliver great results.  All supplies are included with your camp registration.

In addition to sewing your fashions, there are lots more creative activities during the week as designers:

-learn fashion illustration basics and design a capsule collection that expresses who you are as a designer

-enjoy participating in mini-challenges that push your creativity and innovation

-enjoy the included snack each day as you chill with friends new and old and explore our trends and skills library

-capture your Fashions on camera on Photo Shoot Fridays

-model your fashions on the catwalk in our August 11th end of summer fashion show
